We have been awarded by the Bureau of Land Management – Prineville Division as one of the certified operators to provide guided fly fishing tours on the Crooked River.
Our Limited Special Recreation permit allows us to assist in management and care of the river and it’s fish population. We do that through responsible guiding. Operating in ways that help create a sustainable, great fishery.
We also provide tours through local popular outfitters across the Bend, Oregon area. Ask for Stephen, the next time you want a great fly fishing adventure (and lessons from a pro too)!
Fishing and an appreciation for the natural world, seemed to be instilled upon me from my very beginning. I became passionate about fishing right away.
In my early life I spent a lot of my extra time on the river, observing the fish, what they eat, where they hide and how environmental variables affect their appetites and tendencies. I learned the different aspects of fly fishing and once I became an adult I realized it was the primary activity that I wanted to do for enjoyment (AKA: my dream job).
I moved here 21 years ago to be in the middle of the amazing, pristine waters of Central Oregon. Just being located in the beautiful city of Bend has given me unprecedented access to some of the world’s best fly fishing opportunities like mountain streams, high desert streams and rivers, and of course the major western rivers.
I cater to both beginners and those who have experience but need to refine their technique and learn the secrets of the river. Matching the hatch and proper presentation is the key. Knowing were the productive holes are is also imperative. I run only catch and release trips using only barbless hooks for the preservation of wild native fish.
